Chester Beatty   / artists (C) Profile: Along with the first release of Robert Armani's Cloned Vinyl label was the career start for Japan's beast from the east Chester Beatty. Since the ‘Beat Boxx’ EP co-produced with DJ Shufflemaster, Chester Beatty’s tracks have been released on prominent labels such as Housedust (Japan), Speaker Attack (Switzerland) and Convex (Germany). Many of the tracks were used in various mix-CDs and DJ sets by worldwide top talents. In 2000 Chester Beatty started the label Disq, releasing ‘Goldenball’ and ‘Levannon’, both a unique mixture of hard minimal Techno with Funk and Disco elements. The Disq records became instant club hits all over the world, and have since earned the trust of other world-class DJs from around the globe. Chester Beatty met Tresor at Shibuya in Tokyo, culminating soon after in the monstrous ‘Narita Remix’ of Shufflemaster's ‘Fourthinter’. Chester Beatty bio:

One of the handful of Japanese producers to break into the Euro-American techno axis during the late '90s, Chester Beatty gained recognition initially for its affiliation with the widely respected DJ Shufflemaster; however, the duo became widely respected in its own right with time (and many excellent productions), eventually signing to Tresor, the quintessential hard techno label in Europe. Chester Beatty, reportedly comprised of a female and a religion teacher, began to make waves in 1997, when the duo began co-producing, alongside Shufflemaster, some EPs for Robert Armani's Cloned Vinyl label: Beat Boxx (1997), Dessau (1999), and Beat Boxx (Remixes) (2000). Concurrently, Chester Beatty was producing tracks for Housedust (Japan), Speaker Attack (Switzerland), and Convex (Germany), and the duo also began releasing tracks on its own label, Disq. All of this culminated in 2003 when Tresor signed Chester Beatty and released the duo's first full-length, Shot of Love, which notably featured a pair of previously bootleg-only tracks featuring prominent samples: "LOVEJET/Boogie Oogie Oogie" and "Shot of Love (Walking on Music)," the former appropriating A Taste of Honey's "Boogie Oogie Oogie," the latter the Peter Jacques Band's "Walking on Music." ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide (from mp3.com)
